Welcome
A new web archive of Rustington Players, from the beginning.
Our next production - Weds 11th to Sat 14th July
It Could Be Any One Of Us
By Alan Ayckbourn
Directed by Lin Jones, assisted by Paul Jones

The play is set in a country house during a thunderstorm where a family of failures are wrangling over a bequest. It has all the prime ingredients for a traditional murder-mystery thriller. But this is by Alan Ayckbourn and it has a number of surprises within it and the thrills are leavened throughout with tongue in cheek humour.
Box Office open from 11th June to 9th July - 01903 774849
Rustington Carnival
The Rustington Carnival is this year being held on Monday 4 June with the theme of ‘Royalty’. The Players have once again entered in the Carnival Procession. However this year as part of the Jubilee Celebrations we shall be having a small exhibition in the hall in the afternoon and a rehearsed reading of a radio play in the evening. We hope this will be complete with old fashioned sound effects. Pennie Billinghurst will be organising the play reading and will no doubt be in touch with members about taking a part. However if any member, friend or family member is interested in walking in the carnival we would be delighted to hear from them. We have not yet decided on our particular theme as this depends on the response.
If you are interested in taking part please contact Val Daly on 01903 850441 or at
valdaly@btinternet.com.
For the last two years we have won the trophy for the adult walking entry and would like to retain it for a third year.
November Production
Our November production will be ‘Time and The Conways’ an excellent play by J B Priestly to be directed by Paul Ward. The play opens in 1919 with The Great War over and a different and better world seems within reach. Five of the six young Conways have dreams or hopes for their futures. But the second of the three acts leaps ahead to 1939 as the Second World War is approaching and we see how the intervening years have shaped their lives in ways quite different from their expectations. Act 3 is a direct continuation of Act 1 and perhaps gives some hints as to why the future worked out as it did.
The play is quite a challenging one with a good size cast (6 Female and 4 Male). All of the cast have to age some twenty years between acts 1 and two and then back again for Act 3. A number of the cast will also have to appear quite young in acts 1 and 3. Auditions for the Play will be on Thursday 17 May at the Littlehampton United Church starting at 7.30pm. If you would like a copy of the audition notice or know someone who would be interested please contact The Secretary.
Having a reasonably large cast with fairly equal parts the committee is hoping that the play will be attractive to experienced and not so experienced actors.
