Steel Magnolias

A funny and touching play set in a small-town beauty parlour in Louisiana. At its core, it represents the sisterhood formed between six women and shows how each of them copes with her own conflicts while still being a support system for each other.

The author, Robert Harling, was inspired to write this play in memory of his sister, who died from complications related to diabetes. The title represents how these women can be both ‘delicate as magnolias and tough as steel’.
